1. Goal and Objectives:

This practical Financial Mandarin Program is specially designed for Asset Managers. The focus of this program is on the mastery of conversational business Mandarin, with special reference to financial and banking terminology related to asset management. 

The course objective is to enable asset managers to understand daily business Mandarin and communicate more effectively with their Mandarin-speaking clients and counterparts in Mainland China and Taiwan.

In this 36-hour intensive course, the focus is on the mastery of Mandarin financial terminology, scenario-based role-play and appropriate daily social conversation to enable effective communication with your Chinese clients. 

The coaching is self-paced to accommodate the student's busy schedule. All teaching materials are highly customized on a confidential basis. The learning approach is thus, highly personalized to suit the starting level and needs of busy executives. Coaching sessions are treated in strict confidence with focus on building a strong learning relationship between the teacher and the student.

5. About the Company and the Teacher 

Khaw and Sons has been providing professional Mandarin coaching, confidential legal and financial translation and interpreting services to local and foreign financial institutions since 1990. Our regular clients include DBS, OCBC, UBS, Credit Suisse, GIC, Temasek Holdings, Citibank, Cisco Systems, Motorola and Henderson Asset Management. 

Khaw Wei Kang, the Managing Director of Khaw and Sons, will be the anchor teacher of this program. Born in Shanghai and educated in Nanjing, Hong Kong and London, Wei Kang is a bilingual consultant specializing in coaching senior banking executives and government officials. Besides language coaching, Wei Kang currently serves as the certified legal and financial English-Chinese translator for DBS and UBS. Before he set up Khaw and Sons in 1990, Wei Kang worked as the correspondent and Executive Translator with The Straits Times and used to be a part-time lecturer in the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and the National University of Singapore (NUS) Extramural Studies.
